Coconut oil in coffee — a simple recipe
Coffee blended with a little coconut oil — often called "bulletproof" coffee — has a smooth, creamy texture and a subtle coconut aroma. It is quick to make and needs only two ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of hot, freshly brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed virgin coconut oil
- optional: a pinch of cinnamon, a splash of plant-based milk, or a little honey
How to make it
- Brew your coffee as usual.
- Add the coconut oil to the hot coffee.
- Blend for a few seconds — a hand blender or milk frother works best — until a creamy foam forms.
Blending is what makes the difference: simply stirring leaves the oil floating on top, while blending creates a latte-like foam.
Tips
If you are new to coconut oil, start with half a teaspoon and increase gradually to taste. The drink is naturally free from sugar and artificial additives, which makes it popular with people following keto or low-carb eating plans.
For the best flavour use a pure, unrefined oil such as CocoSabay Virgin Coconut Oil — cold-pressed, additive-free and made in Kampot, Cambodia.
